Hey, hey!

So, today I woke up with the sun. Sounds great, but 8 a.m. on Sunday? C’mon! I started the day with a few yoga videos on YouTube. I have been extremely sore and I’m starting to realize that I need to stretch more. As a personal trainer, I need to practice what I preach!

I did “Morning Yoga Flexibility” and it took about 10 minutes. I felt like it opened my shoulders and hip flexors, which was very necessary for me. The rowing machine and interval training has really strained those muscles!

Breakfast was the usual:

  • Greek yogurt
  • Almond butter
  • Coconut flakes
  • Banana
  • Puffed Kamut (awesome stuff, Google it!)

I had intentions to run along the Hudson River, but I ended up at the Brooklyn Bridge. So I decided to just run across the bridge… not a bad alternative!

I grilled up a sweet onion burger with tomatoes and broccoli for lunch. Yum!

My brother told me my food pictures looked gross. Haha! Well, it tastes good to me!

The afternoon was spent walking around Governor’s Island. It was… interesting. Lets just say I won’t be going back. I felt like I was at World’s of Fun without the rides. Ugh!

But it WAS pretty, and the ferry ride was fun.

I walked to Whole Foods and got my groceries for the week. I definitely grabbed a piece of carrot cake for dessert this week. 😉 I got some chicken breasts and veggies for easy lunches. I also found some salmon burgers. What a find! They are frozen so I can pop them in the microwave whenever and get my salmon fix. Nice.

I also got the ingredients for my favorite blueberry crisp. It’s a taste of home.

I wish I had prettier bowls! My crisp was no where near as delicious as my mom’s, but it was still amazing.

It’s time to relax, shower and read. Perfect end to the weekend!
