Remember that there is nothing stable in human affairs; therefore avoid undue elation in prosperity, or undue depression in adversity. -Socrates
Socrates knows his stuff! This quote has so much truth to it and I realize it more and more as I get older. You can’t get caught up in the criticism from others, and you can’t get sucked into the praise either. Acknowledge both, but don’t let them consume you. It’s too much of an emotional burden to carry, and no one needs that on top of daily life. Take the compliments and the criticism in stride, and just keep pushing toward your goals. Because you know what? There isn’t much else you can do! Besides, life is short, and I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to waste it on negativity.
Not my best day today, but you know what? It’s OK. I’m drinking some peppermint tea, and tomorrow will be a fresh start.
“Some days are like that. Even in Australia.”
