Good morning! Happy Wednesday! This week is going by way too quickly. I can’t believe that I only have about one more week of summer and then I go back to school. Junior in college, where has the time gone? I’m excited to see what the year brings.
I cranked out 8 miles this morning. I did 5 miles at a normal pace, 2 miles at a faster race pace and then a mile cool down. It went really well overall. I think it is because I took yesterday afternoon off. Rest is always beneficial. If I had gone to the weight lifting classes, those 8 miles would not have gone smoothly that’s for sure. I did do an 8 mile hill run yesterday morning and it was a kick in the butt. I have really been enjoying these morning runs. Getting up at 5 isn’t bothering me as much anymore and I beat the heat of the day. When I get off work it’s about 4 pm and NOT running weather. There is no way I would run 8 miles in it.
This morning I got a pleasant surprise. Nature’s present to me for waking up and running
Soo pretty. I love my neighborhood. There is no place like home.
I wasn’t as hungry this morning so I had a quick protein shake and some strawberries. I ate by candlelight while I read some healthy living blogs. Healthy Tipping Point and Nutrition Nut on the Run are some of my favorites. I get so inspired with the healthy recipes, exercise routines and lifestyle choices of these bloggers. I’m always on the lookout for new and better ways to be healthy!
See? A protein shake by candlelight. So fancy! This candle is called “Summer Vacation’ and it is just about done. AND summer is just about done… coincidence?
I finished reading The Nine Rooms of Happiness by Lucy Danziger and Catherine Birndorf. Read my book review here. It’s all about cleaning out the mental clutter and filling your life with purpose and well… happiness. Definitely worth your time to check it out!
Time to shower and head to work! Then hopefully a bootcamp workout at the gym if I’m not dragging to much by 4. Can’t make any promises about that one!
Have a wonderful day!
Get fit. Get life.
