Hello all! I have been super bad about updating – life just gets too busy sometimes! I need to take time out to write my thoughts on this little online blog from time to time. I’m currently sipping on some coffee because I need to get focused to write a few articles. I would like to do 3-5 today. It’s a hot day outside so it makes staying indoors a little easier for me. Smile To get focused for some serious writing I have to do a ‘ritual’ of things. I have to get some type of drink (usually a Diet Limeade or coffee), light my candle (coconut lime – refreshing smell), turn on the Ambient Pandora channel, pop some gum in and I am ready to go.

I have been going to a new workout facility with my momma lately called BURN Fitness. I forgot how much I enjoyed group fitness classes. It has been proven in studies that people work out harder and longer when they attend group fit classes. I am a firm believer in this. I think that individuals push their limits and are more prone to workout if they have a great, energetic class to attend. I suggest joining some type of fitness facility that offers group fit. I know that many gyms have special one month trials that would be a good way to ‘test the water’. Also Groupons are always a good deal. I have been going to 1-2 classes almost every day. I absolutely love it. This morning was PIYO and HIIT. It was my first PIYO class and I was really impressed. As I’m sure you could guess, it was a combination of yoga and pilates. A lot of core stability, yoga poses and tempo reps. So fun! I think it is awesome to switch it up and challenge your body with these types of classes. I have never been naturally flexible and my running schedule definitely hasn’t helped with it (hello tight hip flexors), so this class definitely kicked my butt.

I LOVE to exercise because it gives my mind a chance to ‘flow’ with thoughts. On my run yesterday my mind was on automatic mode and I was thinking a lot about the bigger picture of life. I think it is important to find purpose in every activity you engage in. I asked myself, ‘why are you on this run?’ Is it for pure enjoyment? A mental break from the world? To stay fit? My answer was a little bit of all of those. Check in with yourself throughout the day and answer that question: WHY are you doing it? Everyone struggles to find purpose in life because that is the ultimate fulfillment that a human can reach. This activity will help you grasp your purpose. Don’t mindlessly go through the activities of the day. Engage your mind, remind yourself of your goals and make sure that activity is working toward your greater purpose in life.

Live for your purpose, and your purpose only. Don’t waste time on the opinions of others – keep your spirit authentic and be real to yourself and the world around you. It is then, that you will truly feel free.

Those are my DEEP thoughts of the day. Smile On a lighter note, I am sipping on La Croix Coconut Sparkling Water. SO delicious. You should try! I just purchased a  book recommended to me by my internship CEO called ‘Be Your Own Publicist’ by Jessica Kleiman and Meryl Weinsaft Cooper. It is all about using PR skills to excel in your career. Super excited! I just finished The Nine Rooms of Happiness by Lucy Danziger and Catherine Birndorf. Nine rooms was an inspirational read about cleaning your ‘emotional house’ and actively being in the right ‘room’ or in other words, living in the present. A wonderful read!
